Lonely

Hi All,
Sorry it's been so long since I've written. My humans never seem to be home anymore. They have the nerve to leave me sitting here, alone on the boat, for hours at a time. They call it "school". I call it rude. As bad as it seems, I it could be worse.

The cat in the photo lives on the boat next to ours. She lives there alone. Once every couple of months, a human comes over and gives her some food and water. It makes me really sad. And my mom, too. Her living conditions are really poor. It smells like a big, stinky litter box in her boat. Sometimes my parents or my aunts and uncles bring her treats to eat. She always hides when they go over there, but every once in a while we catch her sunning herself on the deck or watching us from the porthole. My mom thought of calling the ASPCA, but she is torn. Perhaps a lonely life alone on a boat is better than being euthanized. It's a tough call. I hope I never get abandoned like my neighbor cat. :(

Stalking Vinny

You might remember cousin Vinny from my blog post last summer.  He lives in South Haven, Michigan and he's kind enough to share his house with me when we visit.  But that doesn't mean I have to be nice to him. One of these days, I'll get you, Vinny. You will be mine!

Carved In Stone

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't written since my parents picked me up from Camp Rita.  I had a great time with Uncle Adam and Cousin Jasmine, but I was really happy to see my parents again.  We've been spending every day together since they got home.  Life is good.

Today we went to Ocean Beach to visit our new tile on Newport Ave.  Here is a picture of me posing with it.  You can read the whole story here

Looks like my whole pack might be taking a little road trip coming up in the next week or so.  I'll keep you posted!

Camp Rita

It's been an exciting couple of days. Dad smuggled me over to Catalina Island on the Express ferry and we spent the night in a room at Avalon. The next morning we did some hiking and took a bus to meet Uncle Adam and cousin Jasmine. We'd originally planned to sail to Santa Barbara but because it took longer than expected to meet up with them, we sailed Camp Rita to Newport instead. This morning, my mom came to pick up dad and the five of us got to visit for a while. Here's a pic of dad rowing me to shore to meet mom. I could hardly wait to get my paws on her!

I spent as long as I could cuddling with my mom, since I know we won't be able to cuddle again for a while.

This is my territory...

...but sometimes I like to trespass on Jasmine's territory.

And here's cousin Jazz...

I was sad to see my parents go, but I'm excited for 2+ weeks of Salty Dog training.
Ahoy, mateys! See you in a few weeks!

Bon Voyage

Hi All,
My grandparents sent me this bling-bling sailor dress just in the knick of time... I left this morning to go on a 20 day sailing adventure with Uncle Adam and cousin Jasmine. Mom brought Dad & I up to Dana Point this morning where we caught the Catalina Express ferry to Catalina Island. There we are going to meet Uncle Adam & Jasmine and the 4 of us will sail to Santa Barbara together. Then Dad will head back to San Diego and I will be spending the next couple of weeks sailing and exploring with my extended family. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I know my mom misses me already, but she also knows I'm going to have a blast! This is going to be a summer I'll never forget. Ahoy, mateys!

P.S. Here's a pic of my dad and me, just before we boarded the ferry.

Road Trip Twenty-Ten

My humans and I just got home from a road trip to up to San Francisco and back down the Route 1 along the Central Coast of California.

Here I am enjoying a pile of warm clothes fresh out of the dryer at the hotel we stayed at the first night in Novato, CA.

And here I am on the dock in Sausalito
I look very lovely against a backdrop of the Pacific Ocean along the Central Coast
And I never miss a chance to mark a fire hydrant. This one is at the pier at Avila.

My Favorite Perch

I used to only sit up in the window
when my humans left me home alone.
I would climb up here and watch out the window
while I waited for their return.
Lately, though, I've been climbing up here every morning and
enjoying the sunshine streaming through the window.
It's my new favorite place to hang out.
